Arriving at Green Turtle Bay on Lake Barkley – 406 viewsSunset was just happening as we pulled into the harbor at Green Turtle Bay. You can see the stream of boats moving in front of us. The 6 boats had finally been able to get through the Lake Barkley Lock. They all came from Hoppie's and went into Green Turtle Bay.

Barges full of Gravel – 500 viewsRight after we got on the Cumberland, we met this towboat pushing barges full of gravel. Cumberland is pretty we had to pick a spot to pass by it. We were surprised to see such a large tow on the tranquil Cumberland.
Biking around Grand Rivers, Kentucky – 483 viewsTo get to the town area from Green Turtle Bay Marina, you have to bike up some hills. This is the path behind Lighthouse Landing, another marina...mostly sailboats tied here.
Camper on the Cumberland – 485 viewsVery calm water, looked like a wonderful spot to hang out for the 4th of July weekend.

Boats at Green Turtle Bay – 596 views450 slips...when Dave called for reservations, they said they were "booked for 4th of July, but they would find us a spot" and they did.
Lake Barkley Dam – 510 viewsSat here for a long time waiting to be transferred from the Cumberland River to Lake Barkley...We ran the extra miles to get to this lock because you are supposed to be able to transfer through without having to deal with commerical traffic. When we got here they had to do two transfers for a towboat, before they took the 6 pleasure boats upstream.
