Arriving at Green Turtle Bay on Lake Barkley – 401 viewsSunset was just happening as we pulled into the harbor at Green Turtle Bay. You can see the stream of boats moving in front of us. The 6 boats had finally been able to get through the Lake Barkley Lock. They all came from Hoppie's and went into Green Turtle Bay.

Barges full of Gravel – 491 viewsRight after we got on the Cumberland, we met this towboat pushing barges full of gravel. Cumberland is pretty narrow...so we had to pick a spot to pass by it. We were surprised to see such a large tow on the tranquil Cumberland.

Lake Barkley Dam – 501 viewsSat here for a long time waiting to be transferred from the Cumberland River to Lake Barkley...We ran the extra miles to get to this lock because you are supposed to be able to transfer through without having to deal with commerical traffic. When we got here they had to do two transfers for a towboat, before they took the 6 pleasure boats upstream.
